Vintage Wedding

Barbara Williams | for the New Two | Stampin"' Up!

Was recently asked to make a wedding card and thought I would try my hand at something a little different, I do hope you like it.  I used our Gorgeous  Vanilla Cardstock along with the stamp set For the New Two, which I embossed with gold embossing powder.

Now I don’t always show you the inside, on this occasion I will.  The inside says, “may today be the start of a long and happy life together.”  Such a gorgeous stamp set, and the cards isn’t bad either.

So Happy

Barbara Williams | Celebrate Today and Hello You Thinlit Dies | Stampin' Up!

Sharing with you another bright and breezy birthday card we recently made in class.  I used the colours of pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, hello hunny and blackberry bliss.  So quick and easy, whipped a few up for my daughter who is often after cards for the many birthday parties my grand daughters go to.

I used the Celebrate Today set and the Happy out of the Hello You Thinlits Set.

Below is a list of items used, by clicking onto the item it will take you straight to my shop where you can buy and have them shipped straight to your door.

Celebration Happy Birthday

Happy Stars

I love the die happy which is in the Crazy about Stamp set and Hello Young Thinlits Dies set, it can be used for so many different ways.  This card was such an easy card to make and is suitable for boys or any male in fact.  Change the colours and your would then have a girl card.

On my list of to do today will be changing the sentiment from Birthday to Mothers Day and using the flower that comes in the Crazy about Bundle, now who wouldn’t love to receive one of these cards, think of the colours that mum loves and stamp away.  She is easily the star in your house.

Enjoy you day.

Butterfly Basics

SONY DSC

Have you seen the beautiful Butterfly Basics Stamp Set, it is just a most gorgeous set to use and so many possibilities that are mind blowing not only with the stamps in the set.  There is also a set of Dies to compliment it, they are a set of butterflies that are quite detailed.

I used the Blackberry Bliss Marker as the main colour to stamp the flowers, then took my Blender Pen and gently massaged the colour into the flower.  I did the same with the stems of the flower.

Thank you for visiting my blog and hope you get some inspiration from my card.

INKspired Blog Hop 14

Hello everyone for yet another blog hop with the INKspired Artists.  If you have landed here you have most likely come from the super talented Teneale.  Wonder what she has been up to today, let her surprise her with her amazingness.  Is that a word if not we have just made it.

Blog Hop 14Now I had been looking forward to doing this card as a couple of years ago I was always doing little squares, however this time I was really stumped and had thought lots of different ones.  Now what would you do with this, please do share with us, I know the team members are all excited about this sketch so I will be excited to see what they have done.

This is my take on the sketch, for it I used the Printed Petals stamp set, its a gorgeous set, I hope you like it.   I am going to send this to a the last person who bought from me at my on line shop, I was just so excited to see someone using it that I think she deserves it as surprise, don’t you?

Card Class same same but different

Card ClassHere is some of the cards my wonderful ladies make in Class on Friday morning.  They were all so proud of what they had done that they wanted a group photo.

They were all given the same inks, aqua brushes instructions, how they turned out is pretty amazing I think.  It all depends on how much water you mix with your ink, how much water you use and how heavy or light handed you are.

Hope you enjoyed them.  I run a class every Friday in the café section of the Creative Spirit Centre, in Minchinbury.

A little bit of Cowboy in all of us

SONY DSCA fun card that we made in class last year, I discovered lots of cards that I hadn’t posted when Pat and I sat down on Sunday to make some cards for a special little person who is in need of some cards to sell.

We reminisced about whether a card was cute, if we enjoyed making it and the colours among other things.  We thought if the colours were changed this could very easily become a girl card.  This time of card can be either a child or an adult, either male or female species.

Do you want to know how we made it?  Yeap of course you do.  Firstly stamp the palings on a sheet of cardstock, then using your oval accent Bigz Clear Die, cut out the shape, this will become your door, so you need have the door to open, just cut it in the middle and some of the bottom of it.  Now it looks like a saloon door don’t you think?  You will need to stamp and cut out some pieces to make the door frame.  I used some of my off cuts from other projects.

Next you just need to stamp out some stars and cut them out using the Star Framelits and perhaps a little sentiment too.  I do hope you like this card and below are the three main items I used.

INKspired Sketch 13

Hello everyone, what a great time I have had doing this blog hop, had originally not known what I would do, then like a bolt of thunder or should I say the rainbow that we have after the rain shown down.  See below what I have done this fortnight.

If your landed here from another member, you have most likely come here from the very talented Teneale and I wonder what she has in stall for us this week.

Blog Hop 13 SketchWe were required to use quite a flat card, with just a small couple of flags at the top and a strip at the top.  Lets see if I have been able to get it together.

INKspired Sketch #INK013

I choose to use the Big News Stamp Set after I had made the base of my card in the newest craze that is called Bokeh.  Its really quite easy, but can be messy.  Hey that’s what makes stamping fun isn’t it?  First you need to decide on your colours and that might depend on what Reinkers you have on hand.  You will need your aqua painter and a small glass of water on hand and your water colour paper.  Putting a small amount of each of the colours down on a flat plate and blend with a drop of water from your aqua painter.

I folded 3 sheets of paper towel then placed my water colour paper on this as your going to drop water on top of your water colour paper to make it really wet.  Next choose one of your lighter colours and dipping your aqua painter into it, then take the brush to your paper and start to paint it where you want it to go.  Do this with the other two colours and watch the mingle together if they being to flow on the edges grab your paper towel and wipe them.  You need to let this completely dry before any more of the steps are done.  Think that’s enough dribble don’t you?  There are a great many instructions out there if you google them, if you really want to know I can tell you, but you need to ask?

Plus I want to go to bed.  By for now and please pop over to see what Cherri has in store for you.

INKspired Sketch Blog Hop 12

I know I always say it, however the weeks blend in to each other and its time to do our blog hop again.  It’s a bit of touch and go if I would do it this week as I have been suffering from dreadful pain in my butt, well not exactly the butt, I have damaged my hamstring and boy it is sore.  Have had needles for the pain and may need more, now on physio and acupuncture. Next will be to strength that side of my body, as it is at the moment don’t know if I want to sit, stand and just quietly pass out.  Anyway enough of this, I have made my card and I am sure your more interested in seeing it then hearing me whine.

If you have landed here your most likely come from the fabulous Teneale Williams and this is the sketch she has chosen for us.  I love it and found it easy to come up with a design.

Week 12 sketch

and this is what I designed.

By Barbara Williams | INKspired Sketch 12

I used the colours of Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana on white cardstock using the Petal Potpouri Stamp Set.  Did you know this is a two-step stamp set and its so easy to use and to top it off you get to have a punch to punch the flower out with.  I do hope you like my rendition of this design and now off you go to check out what Cherie has in store for you.  She has just got a new craft room and maybe she might share some pictures of her new room, another one is the fabulous Lou, who has been flashing some great photo’s on her Facebook of her revamped room.
