INKspired Artists First Birthday

Welcome to our 25 Bloghop, can you believe it we have been blogging for 1 year this month and in my house there is another celebration and that is I have been with Stampin’ Up! for 5 years in September.

To celebrate our leader, Teneale is offering a prize to a lucky commenter, to be in the running to receive the stamp set you must go and comment on all blogs………………..now no favourites, just every one of us.

Barbara Williams

Now how wouldn’t want to win a cool stamp set?   Our challenge this week is to use the sketch below and produce a birthday card, go check out what I have made and don’t forget to hop around to all others.

1 year Birthday Hop

I choose to use Mint Macaron and Elegant Eggplant as my colours and the gorgeous Awesomely Artistic Stamp set and the words come from the  Circle of Spring stamp set.

INK 25 side shot

My original thought had been I would water-colour the flower and for some reason used whisper white to stamp onto and they got my aqua painter out.  Big mistake, as I hadn’t used the new black or grey Archival ink, instead using the Elegant Eggplant, I had my ink flowing across my page.  Then decided maybe vellum was the away to go.  I have to admit I had procrastinated for hours so time was running out and bed was calling.

Cutting a good story short, here is my finished card, hope you like it.

Next is the very talented Kabrina who always does a wow.

INKspired Blog Hop 24

Welcome to the Inkspired blog hop no 24, if your landed here from Teneale’s blog then welcome, please hop all the way around and if you would like to leave us a comment we would love that.

Just sitting here thinking how I always whing and whin about our sketch………… I need to stop it, as to have a sketch to start with actually makes us do our own design, not copy someone else.  Well that’s that I tell myself.

Barbara Williams

The design is quite plain and once I got my head around that and stopped trying to make a stamp set fit the sketch instead of using one that fitted.

Barbie Christmas details

I chose to use the Cup of Cheer, its great little set of little quotes, and the one I choose was the wreath with the words in the middle that say, Soon it will be Christmas Day.   I don’t need to tell you that, if your like me your already thinking about what’s happening on that day.

Barbie Christmas better image

For the inside I used a quote out of the gorgeous Versatile Christmas quotes, if you haven’t seen them yet, please go to page 26 of your Seasonal Catalogue.

Now it’s of to see what Kabrina has created, just a little hint today is fathers day.  I am sure you will enjoy it and I wonder if she used the Guys Greetings, only just though that they would be great for this sketch.

Sheltering Tree

I just love the Sheltering Tree Stamp set and often use in my class, on this occasion I used the Sheltering tree along with the guys greetings. The little vehicle fitted in perfectly with the tree, like its sheltering underneath it.

Car detail

We made it as a birthday card however it could be used with any greeting.

Hope you enjoy and that with will give you some inspiration to mix and match different stamp sets to put a different slant on your cards.

Welcome to yet another blog hop and lets hope I am organised like I was last time, well a little anyway for blog hop 23, only two more to go and we have been at this for a year.  If you have just landed here you have come from the super talented Narelle Macey.

So now lets see what the Teneale has given us to work with this week?  Quite an interesting design, don’t you think?  Come and see what I have done.

INKspired Artist 23

I decided to use one of the stamp sets from the new Occasions Catalouge being launched on the 1st September and boy are you going to love it.  They have really given us lots of great Christmas suites to get our creative juices flowing.  The set I chose is called Reason for the Season, which also comes with a punch so that if you choose you can punch it out to do the layers.  I however choose to fussy cut mine…………………be on the look out for a upgraded card…………lol

Wrong greeting details
Who doesn’t get red everywhere when they are stamping, let me warn you that I had red everywhere however if you look at the card, we needed to have a bit of any over the top puddle, well my puddle turned into a splatter with the gorgeous grunge which soon took.

Barbara Williams

I particularly love the new embossing folder, which I used upside down, but then hey I can at my age.  I hope you enjoy it.

For the inside I kept it very simple and just used the sentiment that comes with the stamp set, “Jesus is the Reason for the Season”  Really resonates with me and sometimes people become so fixed on what’s in it for me, they forget what the reason for this season is.

Barbara Williams

Next up is the super amazing Katrina, I wonder what she has up her sleeve for us this week.

Hello everyone, isn’t it nice that the days are lasting longer, I no longer walk out of work into the darkness, although the nights are rather chilly. The days roll along and we are now at work 22 of our blogging Journey and I wonder what Teneale has in store for you this week.

Blog Ho[p 22

I have thought of using the work Remember out of one of the stamp sets, but decided as it would be a perfect fit for this sketch that I should extend myself a little more and my hand automatically reached for my very favourite stamp set Vintage Leaves.

And I am sure I have nailed it, love the old olive with Pear Pazziz on my leaf and don’t you just love the little wooden word and leaf.

SONY DSC

What do you think, because it’s a woody type of card, I started with the wood grain embossing folder, one of my favourite ones, however on this occasion I used the reverse side of the pattern so it wasn’t as grainy. I then used some designer series paper out of the Farmers Market Designer Series papers.  Love Burlap and so that was one that I knew I would use.

As the sketch needed a sentiment, which was the focal point of this hop, I choose the Expressions Natural Elements.  there are three different ones, thanks, celebrate and Congrats.  I choose the Congrats as it can be used for any occasion.  You will notice a little wooden leaf on the corner, that is in the new seasonal catalogue due for release in September.    We really need to move past every card saying happy birthday.   I know my ladies now are happy to use lots of different greetings and then hand write in the card their message to reflect the event.

And no card is complete without the inside, so here we go.

Barbara Williams

Now off to see what Kabrina has created for us.

Here is a list of what I have used to create my card, should you wish to make it. Now we all know that as crafters we do not need everything and we can often substitute some of the items. But I am sure that your going to want my leaves as I have used them lots and am not finished using them as yet.

If you click on the leaves, it will take you straight to my shop. Happy shopping. Bye for now.

INKspired Artist Blog Hop 21

Week 21 of the INKspired Stampers Blog Hop, who enjoys seeing what we have created?  Please leave a message if you do as we love messages.  I must say I am a little inquisitive as to what Miss Teneale is going to come up with.

However this is the design that we have to work on this week, well to me it’s a tag, now what to do with a tag when I really needed a Christening Card.

Barbara Williams Inkspired Blog Hop 21

Now this is the gorgeous little 3rd generation Niece (Indie Sage) that I needed to make the card for her Christening today, isn’t she just so cute, her mother  (Melissa, second gen Niece) is as well, and her mum (Julie, first gen Niece) and her mum (Ann, my baby sister), you can guess, its a pretty big deal and I am so proud of the whole lot of them.  So will we now go and see what I have done with the Tag…………………cannot get past it being Tag……………..or can I???????

Indie Sage

I don’t know how you decide to make your card, but for me I always decide on my color first, this time I choose a Sage like colour as her name is Indiana Sage.  After being firm on that I then looked a papers I could use to put my Tag onto, it starting to look a little like my card will be coming together, a bit like a family………….lol

Barbara Williams

By TAG, I think I got it, don’t you?  I made my tag, thought I was just a tad plan so made another one to go behind the white one, then used a small piece of the new lace to go through the top of and tied it off the white string.  Beautiful, all that’s missing is a Cross on the tag, there’s that word again.

Barbara Williams Christening Card

I love what my card has ended up looking like and never again should I whine about a design.  Lets have a quick look at the inside of the card before I send you off to the next blog.

Barbara Williams

Off now to the very talented and fabulous Kabrina wonder what she has been up this week.

Happy Birthday

Have you used the new Dahlia Stamp Set, is great for a simple clean elegant card, I stamped mine in Pink Pirouette on Whisper White Cardstock and trimmed with the beautiful Sahara Sand Lace.

I used the Hostess Set called “Happy Birthday Everyone” I love this Happy Birthday and am sure you will too.  Want to know how you can get one?

I am happy to help you earn one as you.

   Happy Birthday

Vintage Leaves

Promised I would be back with more leaves for you, I am loving this stamp set and am sure you will also, be warned I do have more.

Barbara Williams Yellow Leafs embossing shot

If you remember my other post of leaves I stamped on Black with the Clear Embossing Power, well this time I just used a Gold Embossing power  don’t forget to use a Embossing Buddy to swipe over your card stock before you use your versamark to emboss.  Then took a sponge and sponged area’s of the card front, starting with More Mustard (retired), Old Olive and Cajun Craze and finally Always Artichoke on the leaves.

The spots were added by using the Sheltering Tree stamp set and inking up the blossoms that go on the tree, in Early Espresso.  Love that Sheltering Tree set.

Barbara Williams Yellow Leafs front

My card base was using More Mustard Cardstock and Whisper White card front.  I stamped out 3 leaves in More Mustard and Old Olive and cut them out using the dies that match.  I also cut out a leaf in the More Mustard and stamped a sentiment onto it in Memento Black Ink.

Barbara Williams Yellow Leafs inside

Just a simple stamping on the inside of the card to finish it off.
