INKspired artist blog hop 22

Hello everyone, isn’t it nice that the days are lasting longer, I no longer walk out of work into the darkness, although the nights are rather chilly. The days roll along and we are now at work 22 of our blogging Journey and I wonder what Teneale has in store for you this week.

Blog Ho[p 22

I have thought of using the work Remember out of one of the stamp sets, but decided as it would be a perfect fit for this sketch that I should extend myself a little more and my hand automatically reached for my very favourite stamp set Vintage Leaves.

And I am sure I have nailed it, love the old olive with Pear Pazziz on my leaf and don’t you just love the little wooden word and leaf.

What do you think, because it’s a woody type of card, I started with the wood grain embossing folder, one of my favourite ones, however on this occasion I used the reverse side of the pattern so it wasn’t as grainy. I then used some designer series paper out of the Farmers Market Designer Series papers.  Love Burlap and so that was one that I knew I would use.

As the sketch needed a sentiment, which was the focal point of this hop, I choose the Expressions Natural Elements.  there are three different ones, thanks, celebrate and Congrats.  I choose the Congrats as it can be used for any occasion.  You will notice a little wooden leaf on the corner, that is in the new seasonal catalogue due for release in September.    We really need to move past every card saying happy birthday.   I know my ladies now are happy to use lots of different greetings and then hand write in the card their message to reflect the event.

And no card is complete without the inside, so here we go.

Now off to see what Kabrina has created for us.

Here is a list of what I have used to create my card, should you wish to make it. Now we all know that as crafters we do not need everything and we can often substitute some of the items. But I am sure that your going to want my leaves as I have used them lots and am not finished using them as yet.

If you click on the leaves, it will take you straight to my shop. Happy shopping. Bye for now.

I am in love with the Vintage Leaves and the Leaflets Frames and wanted to use them for my card, I do hope you like them.

To make this card I used Black Cardstock for my base and the main card.  Using Versamark stamped randomly over my base, then applied clear embossing powder to embosse, this gave it the lovely shinny effect.  I then used a thin strip of the Corrugated Paper to add to the front of the card.  You can use this in place of ribbon, I for one cannot do bows so tend to steer away from ribbons.

I then used 3 different stamps and inked each one up with different greens.  In this card I used Old Olive, Wild Wasabi and Always Artichoke, after stamping them, I cut with out using the thinltts.  Don’t you just love that Stampin’ Up! have bought out lots of thinlits that allow you to quickly cut out your images.  I then sponged around the leaf to take away that white line and make them appear more real.  These were tired together with a piece of twine and attached to the front of the card.

I then used a piece of Craft Cardstock to cut out the greeting from the Greeting Thinlits.  What do you think?  looks good doesn’t it and such a petite greeting, this was attached using Glue Dots, I just love these dots.
