Natures Poem

Welcome to our 80th Blog Hop, how do you like our sketch? If you started at another members blog, its most likely Maree and I cannot wait to check out her card.

I enjoyed Natures Poem Suite and I am wondering what the other girls have done with it.

Again I have used Rooted in Nature, its such a versatile stamp set and when I had chosen it, I had no idea what I would do with it, or who I would send it to.  That shows the versatility of it, however, I have been gently hinted to that I need to use another stamp set next time…..lol

Love the new textured embossing folder, it gives a shuttle texture to the card stock, check out the Mango Melody cardstock.

I choose to use the Words are never enough, such comforting words for a loss of someone dear.

Thanks for stopping by, now your off to see what Teneale has made for you.

Trees in Nature

Welcome to our 79th blog hop, amazing.  I hope your all had a lovely weekend, I know I did, some of my lovely ladies from my Friday class came to my place for their 4th Saturday class, it’s a lovely relaxing afternoon, sharing our love of stamps.

Teneale always makes a sketch for us to give us some direction and allows us to extend our creativity by designing a card around this sketch.

Heres what I came up with, using a rather fun technique that I had used in one of my classes with autumn leaves, so I knew that the Rooted in Nature stamp set would be just great.

Little tip for you, if you decide to use glue to attach the oval onto another oval, then as it’s not sticking just how you want it to, DO NOT, stick it under your craft mat.  It gets moisture in and sucks some of the color off your work.  Me I just thought that it added character.

On the inside, I used my Stampin’ Markers to color the tree, and the little greeting.

Hope I can encourage your creativity and have a great week, your now off to check out Teneale’s card, I have seen it and its awesome.

Rooted in Nature

Blog Hop 78

The Weeks are just rolling away, we are moving into May, kids have been on holidays and back to school for the second term……………wow

This week we have a smaller group playing, still worthwhile and will give you all some ideas I am sure.  Below is the sketch that Teneale has created for us, so lets go see what everyone has come up with.

If your come from the gorgeous Renee, welcome, I cannot wait to see what she has done with the same stamp set as I used.  How funny. For me, I go a week ago, I’m using Rooted in Nature, right just sounds wrong doesn’t it.  I never name my blog post, always just the number that we are working on.  So being a smartarse I named it then had to try and make the set fit the sketch with no idea what was in the set.  Yeap smart arse Barb.

If your wondering about the name, we its one of the new stamps sets being released on the 2nd June with in the new Catalogue.  So now who is excited??

The set is a two case set and its huge and has trees, leaves, saying and a set of dies to cut out.  Do you think I might replace Lovely as a Tree, which as been around for ever and my shelve has two sets on it, one wood and one clear.

I used one of the detailed leaves and stamp on the card base, adding interest.  if you can see a small scallop at the bottom of the designer paper that’s some burlap that I stripped a couple of lines of thread off, these I used to make a knot on the tree piece.

I stamped the tree in old olive and used a write and marker on the tree trunk then stamped it before using the dies to cut it out.

Now here is the finished card.

Your now of to see what Teneale has made for you.
